Welcome to the House of Mexico

Call to Action

The dream of building a House of Mexico in San Diego’s Balboa Park is shared by many San Diegan’s who have generously contributed their time and donations since 2004 to make this dream come true.

This collective, long-standing effort has yielded a sum of $240,000. However, the soaring cost of construction in the beautiful city that we call home has increased, and with it the required amount to secure the House of Mexico. For this reason, we are now in urgent need to raise an additional $110 000 by July 1, 2018.

In order to do so, we are asking our members, friends and others, who understand the importance of Mexico being represented in Balboa Park, to intensify their enthusiasm and, more specifically, their generosity. We are asking you to donate any amount you wish and to spread the word, as well. If you are able to be make a large donation, besides the benefit of it being tax deductible, your gift will be recognized in our cottage once it is built, as well as on our website and in our social media.

Because our goal of meeting three quarters of the total construction cost of $500,000 coincides with the first matches of the 2018 FIFA World Cup (with Mexico playing in three of them), it is only fitting that we invite you to join our team. We ask you to kick that ball, and together we will root for each other and we’ll share the thrill of making it to the final match! Please say “Yes”. Yes, we can.  Si Se Puede

We are a not-for-profit organization (Federal Tax ID 51 048 4533) focused on developing and implementing on-going programs that serve the community and reflect our mission to share, celebrate, educate and promote the rich art, culture and history of Mexico to San Diego and its visitors.

We invite you to join us in our quest to solidify our role as an integral part of the International Cottages of the House of Pacific Relations and the total Balboa Park experience.

Are you passionate about what we're doing? Let us know! We are always looking for volunteers to help us make our vision a reality. We'll help you find a way to volunteer that best suits you. We're excited to have you join the team!

Currently our main goal is to raise funds to construct a cottage that will provide a physical presence in Balboa Park. In addition, we provide year round programming at Balboa Park sharing the rich culture, arts, food, and traditions of Mexico at many events in the park and in the community, including our Lawn Program, Ethnic Food Fair, and International Christmas events.

Thank You

Whether you help through monetary donations, volunteering your time, or spreading our mission through word-of-mouth, thank you. We couldn't accomplish our goals without the help of supporters like you.
