About Us

Welcome to the House of Mexico

Call to Action

Mexico is an indelible part of San Diego. One doesn't have to go far to see that Mexican culture has integrated into many aspects of San Diego life. Our community is enriched by the on-going influence of Mexico. But there is one place in San Diego where that influence is conspicuously missing; believe it or not it is in Balboa Park. While many visitors to the park will see the influence from Mexico, some with a keen eye will note that a House of Mexico is missing from the International Cottages Lawn. A cottage in Balboa Park will be a tribute to San Diego's deep and long connection to Mexico.

The time to help in this endeavor is NOW; as the window to begin construction is quickly approaching. The opportunity could be lost forever as the rising costs of construction will make it far more difficult for us to achieve this goal. Please join us in our efforts to build a cottage in Balboa Park. The time is now! Become a member, volunteer, and/or donate $1, $5, $10, $100 or whatever amount you can to this worthy cause, even historic cause. Any amount counts!

We are a not-for-profit organization (Federal Tax ID 51 048 4533) focused on developing and implementing on-going programs that serve the community and reflect our mission to share, celebrate, educate and promote the rich art, culture and history of Mexico to San Diego and its visitors.

Are you passionate about what we're doing? Let us know! We are always looking for volunteers to help us make our vision a reality. We'll help you find a way to volunteer that best suits you. We're excited to have you join the team!

Currently our main goal is to raise funds to construct a cottage that will provide a physical presence in Balboa Park. In addition, we provide year round programming at Balboa Park sharing the rich culture, arts, food, and traditions of Mexico at many events in the park and in the community, including our Lawn Program, Ethnic Food Fair, and International Christmas events.

Thank You

Whether you help through monetary donations, volunteering your time, or spreading our mission through word-of-mouth, thank you. We couldn't accomplish our goals without the help of supporters like you.
